We are pleased and blessed to have Reverend Larry Garcia serving Hill Country Christian Church as our Senior Minister. Larry has been associated with HCCC since its early formation days. Rev. Garcia calls himself a "second-career pastor", because he does double-duty by serving our congregation and also running a law practice in San Antonio. Before coming to HCCC, Larry completed extended interim ministries of one to three years at Del Rio Christian Church in Del Rio, Texas; Genesis Christian Church in Converse, Texas; and Hyde Park Christian Church in Austin, Texas.

    Larry's sermons are Bible based with background to illuminate the context of the scripture and contemporary stories to illustrate the messages. Larry is married to Linda Garcia. They met at church camp and have been married for 42 years. Their grandchildren, Merlin and Gavin Garcia, often accompany them to church. Larry is a past Chairman of the Board of Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc., and of Kidshare, Inc. He is also a board member of Inman Christian Center. Further, he is a past president of the San Antonio Family Lawyers Association and is Board Certified as a specialist in Family and Criminal Law. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Houston in 1971, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1979. He has been licensed as an Interim Minister to the Bluebonnet Area of the Christian Church since 1998.

    Reverend Janie Harrison joined Hill Country Christian Church in 2006. She immediately began the Licensed Minister's Program, completing her studies in July, 2009. Janie initially served HCCC as Children's Minister and continues to minister to children and their families.

    Janie leads the Children's Sermon each Sunday when the children are invited to come forward for their special time before being dismissed to Children's Church. With her primary interest being Education, Janie teaches Elementary School on Sunday morning, and Adult Bible Study on Thursday night.

    Janie has an Associates Degree in Management from San Antonio College and spent most of her working career in banking, but her career of choice will always be ministry.

    Janie and her husband George were married in 1993, and although Janie never had biological children, she said she feels that God has given her hundreds of children while serving in various Disciples Churches doing Children's Ministry including Genesis Christian Church and Holy Ground Christian Church.
